Een aantal universiteiten biedt online cursussen aan waarvan een deel zelfs gratis te volgen is. Tegen een kleine vergoeding van ca. €50,- kan er zelfs vaak een prestatie certificaat worden verkregen voor het volgen van de cursus. Veel van deze cursussen zijn samengebundeld door edX, een platform voor onderwijs en leren, dat is opgericht door Harvard en MIT.
Het is soms flink zoeken voordat je interessante cursussen e.d. voor restauratoren tegenkomt, maar het is een goede en goedkope manier voor bijscholing en vooral van verbreding van de bij ons van huis uit al aanwezige ruime vakkennis!
